Sunbit Theatre Arts was created by Christine Anderson Winter, B.A.A ECE, ECE, in 1997 operating in King City, On. In 1998, Sunbit became an approved service provider of the York Region District School Board and began classes at Nobleton Senior Public School during lunches. Shortly after, this program grew to the Nobleton Jr Public School and a few years later grew to cover the Schomberg Public School as well. All Lunches and after school spaces were filled. Each school performed several scripted plays each year. Sunbit still continued night classes in King City and added 1 program in Richmond Hill. Over 600 different children and teens were involved in Sunbit Theatre. Sunbit Theatre operated 12 months of the year by offering a wide range of summer camps and worked on performances for the local fairs. Christine married and started a family in the Niagara area and ended her programs in York Region in 2007. While being in Niagara, Sunbit offered programs at Mountainview CRC and began in the local schools (Vineland Public, Maple Grove, Senator Gibson, St Edwards )for 5 years. In 2013 Sunbit started teaching the drama curriculum Jk through grade 8 at Covenant Christian and John Knox Christian School. At that time Sunbit pulled out of the other schools to focus on curriculum and production. Due to time constraints, Sunbit currently offers 1 or 2 public classes through the year and 1 or 2 camps every summer. The Director / Owner teaches all of the classes.
